Graduation
Degree/Diploma/Technical Certificate of Credit Graduate
All students finishing program requirements should submit a graduation application signed by the assigned program advisor and submit completed application to the Registrar's Office one academic term prior to the completion date. The Technical College System of Georgia's policy requires all students to complete a minimum of 25% of the selected program’s credit hours in residence at Southern Crescent Technical College. The 25% does not include advanced standing through the transfer of credit, military credit, credit by exemption, credit by experience, or articulation.
All students must pay the non-refundable processing fee of $40.00 when the application is submitted, regardless of participation in the Graduation Ceremony. *Fees are subject to change.
All students planning to participate in the commencement ceremony must register online via the “Graduation and Commencement Ceremony Information” website by the designated deadline. Students will receive email updates about the Graduation Ceremony and registration process only if they select the participation box on their graduation application. Students are solely responsible for initiating and completing the graduation process, including submitting an application for graduation, registering for the commencement ceremony, obtaining graduation regalia, and participating in all other required graduation-related activities.
Participation in the graduation ceremony requires the purchase of graduation regalia, which is not included in graduation fees. Regalia ordering information is sent to students after they complete the ceremony registration process. Late fees may apply to orders placed after the published priority deadline.
***Students who submit their graduation application after the published priority deadline will not have their name printed in the Commencement program. In addition, late submission of a graduation application may impact a student's ability to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
Graduation candidates must meet all academic requirements, including maintaining a minimum program grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, achieving regular admission status within their program, and satisfying all financial obligations to the College prior to graduation.
Graduation credentials are generally available approximately 8–10 weeks after final grades for the term have been posted. Processing times do not include weekends, holidays, or College closures.
For additional information regarding the Commencement Ceremony, please contact the SCTC Registrar's Office.
